EDUCATION
Our multicultural environment encourages everyone to
achieve both personal and professional growth. Disney International Programs
participants have the opportunity to learn from experienced Disney
professionals. They can also take advantage of valuable resources at the Cast
Service Centers or Disney Learning Centers, which are self-directed career
resource centers located throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort,
including one at the Vista Way apartments.
Our company established these centers to provide all
Walt Disney World® Cast Members access to the tools they need for
ongoing career development. These centers have become a staple of the Disney
International Programs learning experience. Each location is staffed to offer
hands-on assistance when needed.
Cast Service Centers and the Disney Learning Centers offer
four basic services:
- Library services
- Computer-based learning
- Learning activities
- Career resources
Library Services
Cast Members may check out resources in various formats
including books, audiotapes, videotapes and compact discs. These resources
enhance their personal and professional development and complement their
working and living experiences. The teams at the Cast Service Centers and
Disney Learning Center are constantly supplementing resources based on leading
business theories and trends.
Cultural diversity is an important focus of the centers.
Cast Members can study various cultures and put theory into practice daily as
they encounter Guests and Cast Members from all over the world. Language
resources rate as some of the most popular activities in our centers.
The centers provide required and recommended reading for
Cast Members who are enrolled in Disney College Program Education Courses. In
addition to these readings, other topics focus on improving Guest service,
improving communication, change management, leadership development and time
management. These resources can prove invaluable to anyone preparing for
adventure in today's business world.
Computer-Based Learning
Every day, computers are becoming more important to the
future of business, and Walt Disney World Cast Members have the
opportunity to improve their computer skills at the Cast Service Centers or
Disney Learning Center. Computer tutorials cover topics such as Microsoft Word
and Excel, Front Page and Outlook. In addition to computer programs,
participants may select tutorials that cover languages, marketing, accounting
and finance. Also, Cast Members may use computers at these centers for Internet
research.
Learning Activities
All Walt Disney World Cast Members are invited to
attend learning activities offered through the Cast Service Centers or the
Disney Learning Center. Learning Activities are sixty to ninety-minute sessions
that cover a variety of topics. These activities are free of charge to Cast
Members. Participants may have the opportunity to listen to a Disney executive
discuss his or her career path or investigate the possibility of a career with
Walt Disney World Entertainment, Finance, Marketing or another
department. A representative from Walt Disney World Casting may offer
résumé and interviewing advice. The possibilities are endless,
and a new calendar of activities is published each month.
Career Resources
Cast Service Centers and the Disney Learning Center has a
vast collection of resources that help our Cast Members focus on preparing for
a job search, including tutorials on creating a résumé/CV,
sharpening interviewing skills, and more. Many of these resources are mentioned
above.

LIVING
Our housing allows Cast Members the possibility to live
and interact with people from all over the world. They can meet people using
our transportation system, working out at the fitness centers or while sunning
or swimming at the pools.
Our apartment complexes feature two to four bedroom
apartments; please note all bedrooms are shared by two people. The weekly
housing cost, which includes all amenities, varies depending on the size and
location of the apartment. All assignments are based on a number of factors
such as, arrival and departure dates, gender, and age (over or under 21). There
is no co-ed housing.
Please note housing is only allowed for participants of
the program, and no one under the age of 18 is permitted in housing.
Housing costs range from $82-108 USD per week, depending
on the size of the apartment and the amenities offered at the complex.
To make the living experience more convenient, the housing
costs are deducted from the Cast Member's weekly paycheck automatically. That
way, they never have to worry about missing a payment.
Participants will also be responsible for a non-refundable
$100 Program Assessment fee, which helps support the events and activities
scheduled in the housing complexes throughout the program. Also, please note a
minimal processing fee will also be assessed to the total. This non-refundable
fee must be paid as a single payment at the time an applicant accepts their
invitation to participate on the program. Once the payment is received and the
online acceptance process is completed, we will officially reserve the
student's place on the program.
Please note that this payment must be made by credit card.
Other forms of payment, including cash and personal checks, will not be
accepted.
We also offer wellness apartments where no alcohol is
permitted. All participants who are under the age of 21 at the time of arrival
will be placed in a wellness apartment automatically. Participants over the age
of 21 can request a wellness apartment when they arrive. All apartments are
non-smoking. All bedrooms, living areas and kitchens are shared; therefore,
participants should expect limited privacy.
Our housing complexes are part of exclusive Disney

our Cast Members' safety and comfort in mind. Failure to comply with Community
Codes can result in termination from the program.
All participants receive the full list of Community Codes
when they check-in on their arrival date. They are asked to read all of the
guidelines and sign the form to show they understand and will comply with all
codes. Below are a few highlights from the Community Codes form.
Visitors
Guests are welcome to visit a participant's apartment
complex. However, the participant must sign them in at security and make all
visitors aware that GUESTS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE COMPLEX AFTER 1 AM. This means
that OVERNIGHT GUESTS ARE PROHIBITED. Cast Members from other complexes are
considered to be Guests and are subject to the same rules and conditions as
others who don't live in one of our complexes. For example, if participants
live at Vista Way and wish to host a Cast Member from The Commons, they must
submit a Visitor Authorization Form PRIOR to the Guest's arrival. That Guest
must vacate property by 1 AM. Violation of this guideline will result in
disciplinary action, not excluding termination.
Alcohol & Substance Abuse
The legal drinking age in Florida is 21. Under-age

balls, as well as disruptive or destructive behavior because of excessive
consumption are all prohibited and can lead to termination from the

company registered and authorized to sell automobile liability insurance in the
United States (including the State of Florida) that will cover any property
damage or personal injury (including but not limited to serious bodily injury
or death) caused by the participant while operating the vehicle.
- FLOOR PLANS
Here's a sneak peek of a couple of apartments at three different housing complexes. Please keep in mind that these views are
samples of the rooms that are available. The actual layout varies with each
complex and apartment size.
Participants' housing accommodations will be
finalized when they register on their check-in day.

THE DISNEY LOOK
The Legacy of the Disney Look Carries on Today
Since the opening of the Disneyland® Park in
1955, Guests have come to know and treasure the elements that set Disney theme
parks and resorts apart. One of these key elements is the traditional
appearance and image of the Cast, better known as the Disney Look.
The Disney Look started with Walt Disney's idea that the
"Cast Members" at Disneyland Park were to play an important role in
bringing Guests into a fantasy world, and that the Cast would be a large part
of the show. Walt had the vision that Cast Members would appear friendly,
approachable, and knowledgeable. The Disney Look guaranteed that the Cast did
not distract from the show or become the show. Rather, these guidelines were
put in place to maintain the consistency of the appearance of the Cast that the
Guests have come to love and appreciate over the years.
As Cast Members at the Walt Disney World®
Resort, our appearance reflects the commitment to excellence and show quality
for which the Company is known.
All Disney International Programs participants are
expected to be compliant with the Disney Look upon their arrival.
If you have any general questions regarding the Disney Look, please contact the Cast Image and Appearance team at WDW.Disney.Look@disney.com
Any request for an exception to the Disney Look policy for
religious beliefs or questions regarding the accommodation of medical
restrictions or religious beliefs must be directed to the Employee Relations
team at wdwemployeerelations-eastcoast@email.disney.com.
More information can be found within the
medical/religious accomodation request section.

number of ways for our Cast Members to get involved and make a difference in
their community and have a lot of fun, too! They can volunteer in our
school-visit program and talk to local children about their heritage and
culture. They also can volunteer at the Give Kids the World Village, where
children with life-threatening illnesses fulfill their "wish" to visit the
Walt Disney World Resort. Twice each week, our Housing Team visits the
Give Kids the World Village with Program Cast Members who want to
volunteer.
